Getting Your Facebook to Look Good for Your Mobile Customers
Are you putting customers off by how your business looks on mobile devices?
Does your Facebook cover look rubbish on mobile devices?
Did you know, your Facebook page cover photo is probably cut off on mobile devices?
Recently I was reviewing my Facebook business page and how it looked on my mobile phone. To my horror, the cover photo looked terrible, it didn’t fit, and part of my information and my image were cut off. As in the screenshot to the right.
The big problem with this is, it looked unprofessional and if I was my potential customers, I would more than likely to just move on because of it.
As a business owner, I need all my details and my information to be available when customers are looking at my business. In today’s marketplace, it is not good enough to just be online, you must be the best that you can be, to compete.
Like many I guess, it is not something I really considered. I expected Facebook to adjust them to suit a mobile view, just like my website does. But they do not!
What I discovered:
Just like everyone else I guess, I Googled “Facebook cover photo sizes” and a lot of the same information popped up, 820 pixels wide and 312 pixels tall for desktop, 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall for mobile. Not to mention that if your image is smaller Facebook will stretch it to fit ( making your business storefront look blurry) which is not good when you remember that Facebook doesn’t optimise your business look when switching devices. You do not have the option of one for PC and one for mobile, etc.
If you think “It doesn’t matter how it looks on a phone" here an eye-opening stat, as of April 2020, “over 98 per cent of active user accounts worldwide accessed the social network via any kind of mobile phone". Which is a huge number and showed me, how imperative it was to fix how my business looked for mobile views. Source: Statista
Solving the problem:
I spent a lot of time going from page to page, hoping there was an easy fix or a template I could grab off someone’s website, with not a lot of luck.
It dawned on me, if I wanted to fix the problem, I would have to make my own templates for my personal, business and group pages. Because I really wanted my business to look good to my customers.
Knowing how hard it was and the time I spent trying to find a solution, I do not want you to waste your time as well, so I wanted to share the solution I came up with.
